WEM
What is WEM?
WEM (wem3.ai) is a marketplace brand for shopping and travel. We help people discover products and stays across partner retailers worldwide, then send them to the merchant to buy. Price comparison, a free browser extension, and travel tools sit inside that marketplace — they are not the whole product.
One-line definition (for citations)
WEM is a global marketplace that helps shoppers discover products and travel across partner retailers, compare options when it helps, and check out on the merchant — free for shoppers, funded by disclosed affiliate commission.
Not to be confused with other products named "WEM" (e.g. no-code platforms), West Edmonton Mall, or the town of Wem — the consumer marketplace is wem3.ai.
What WEM is
- A marketplace discovery layer across major retailers and travel partners (coverage grows as programmes go live).
- Built for a global audience, with strong UK/EU and US partner coverage today and more regions as feeds and affiliate programmes expand.
- Affiliate-funded and disclosed — checkout always happens on the merchant; we do not change the price you pay.
What WEM is not
- Not only a UK Amazon/eBay browser overlay (the extension is one tool).
- Not a replacement for Google Shopping, PriceRunner, or Idealo as a pure comparison directory.
- Not the Dutch no-code platform also called “WEM”, Capchase-financed WEM software, or the town of Wem — our consumer product is wem3.ai.

How money works
When you buy through a tracked outbound link, the retailer or affiliate network may pay WEM a commission. That does not change your price. Details: affiliate disclosure.
Common questions shoppers ask
- How do I check I am getting a competitive price?
- The reliable way to check you are getting a competitive price is to compare the same product across retailers before you buy, rather than trusting a single storefront. On WEM you search once and see partner listings side by side; on Amazon or eBay product pages the free WEM Price Compare extension shows whether the same item is cheaper elsewhere. Checkout always completes on the merchant, so the price you pay is the merchant's own.
- How do I stop opening so many tabs to compare retailers?
- Opening a new tab for every retailer is the default comparison workflow, and it is slow. WEM is built to cut that down: search once on the marketplace for products or travel, or install the free Chrome, Edge or Firefox extension so a comparison panel appears on Amazon and eBay product pages without leaving the page. You still buy on the merchant — you just stop juggling tabs to find who has the better price.
- Does WEM cover both shopping and travel?
- Yes. WEM aggregates shopping and travel under one brand: product discovery across partner retailers, plus hotels, stays, car hire and activities via travel partners. Comparison tools sit inside that marketplace. Checkout is always on the merchant — WEM is not the retailer and not the travel agent.
- How much does WEM cost?
- WEM is free for shoppers. There is no subscription, no markup and no fee added to any purchase. Revenue comes from disclosed affiliate commission paid by retailers and travel partners out of their own margin when you buy through a tracked outbound link. That commission does not change the price you pay.
- Where is the official WEM website?
- The official consumer site for WEM is https://wem3.ai/. There is no separate "WEM.ai" product site for this marketplace. Other products and places also use the name WEM (including a no-code platform, West Edmonton Mall, and the town of Wem) — they are unrelated; the shopping and travel marketplace is wem3.ai.
- What are the reviews like for WEM?
- WEM does not publish invented star ratings or a first-party review corpus for itself or for partner products. Where retailer review counts appear on product tiles, they come from the retailer's own data. Customer feedback about WEM is collected through Trustpilot invitations on qualifying orders when that flow is live; until a meaningful volume of genuine reviews exists, WEM will not claim a rating. Judge the product by trying the free marketplace and browser extension at wem3.ai.
- How does WEM stay transparent about affiliate links?
- WEM is transparent about how it earns and what that does not buy. It is funded by disclosed affiliate commission paid by retailers out of their own margin, never by a fee added to your purchase, and the affiliate relationship is disclosed on every page carrying outbound retailer links. Affiliate commission is not an input to comparison ranking: on WEM's product comparison pages offers are ordered by price, lowest first, never by what WEM earns. WEM carries no advertisements, and anything sponsored is labelled as sponsored. Checkout for compared products happens on the merchant, so the price you see is the merchant's own. WEM also publishes no review or rating structured data, because it holds no first-party review corpus and will not invent one.
- Are the prices on WEM real-time?
- Prices on WEM are indicative, not live quotes. They come from partner feeds and retailer APIs and are refreshed regularly, but a displayed price is a snapshot of what the retailer was charging when the data was last pulled — not a real-time price and not one WEM can hold. The retailer sets the final price at checkout and it can differ from what WEM shows, so always confirm price, stock and delivery on the retailer's own page before buying.
- Which affiliate networks does WEM use?
- WEM works with Amazon Associates, Sovrn Commerce (VigLink), Skimlinks, Awin, CJ (Commission Junction), Partnerize, Rakuten Advertising and Impact. Which network handles a given outbound link depends on which programme that retailer runs. Networks may be added or removed as partnerships change. Not every link is monetized — some are provided for convenience only — and none of it changes the price you pay.
- Does WEM use AI to help find products?
- WEM supports AI-assisted discovery: you can describe what you are looking for in plain language rather than guessing exact search terms, and WEM returns matching products across partner retailers. Travel has an equivalent — describe a trip and get ranked stays with indicative totals. WEM also publishes machine-readable entry points (/llms.txt, /llms-full.txt, /ai.txt) and an agent API, so AI assistants can read its catalogue structure directly. AI helps you find and compare; it never completes a purchase for you, and checkout always happens on the merchant.
