WEM Price Compare Is Now on Microsoft Edge — Free, Honest Price Comparison in the Edge Add-ons Store
WEM Price Compare is now live in the Microsoft Edge Add-ons store. The same free, transparent UK price-comparison tool — one click to install on Edge. Here is what it does, how it makes money, and how to get it.
WEM Price Compare is now live in the Microsoft Edge Add-ons store. It is the same extension that has been running on Chrome — now one click to install on Edge. If you shop on Amazon or eBay in Edge, you can see whether the same item is cheaper somewhere else without leaving the page you are on.
Why this matters for Edge users
Edge ships as the default browser on every Windows PC, so a large share of UK shoppers browse and buy in Edge without ever installing anything extra. Edge also has its own shopping and coupon features built in by Microsoft. WEM Price Compare gives Edge users a transparent, independent alternative: it tells you whether the same product is cheaper at another retailer, and it is upfront about exactly how it makes money — which, after the wave of coverage about price-comparison tools quietly working against shoppers, is the part that actually matters.
Exactly the same tool as the Chrome version
This is the same extension, not a stripped-down port. On an Amazon or eBay product page, a small panel shows whether the same item, or a close match, is available cheaper at any of the retailers WEM covers. If a cheaper option exists, you click through and complete the purchase on that retailer. If no cheaper option exists, the panel stays out of the way and you finish wherever you started. The full breakdown of how the matching and pricing work is in our launch write-up.
What it will not do
The rules are identical on Edge. No checkout hijacking — you go straight to the retailer, and we do not redirect your click through a tracking domain that overwrites an affiliate you were already supporting. No fake coupon auto-application at checkout. No account, no email, no wallet. And it only runs on Amazon and eBay product pages, requesting just two permissions — activeTab and storage — so it cannot see, and does not collect, anything you do on other websites.
How it makes money, said plainly
WEM earns a commission when you buy through some of the retailers it links to, paid by the retailer or the affiliate network rather than by you. It does not change the price you pay, and the cheapest in-stock match is always the top result regardless of which retailer pays the most. The full disclosure lives at wem3.ai/disclosure. Being able to say that out loud is the whole reason the extension is built the way it is.
How to install on Edge
Installing takes about ten seconds, and there is no onboarding flow and no settings to configure. The extension stays dormant until you open an Amazon or eBay product page; it will not run anywhere else.
- Open the Microsoft Edge Add-ons store and search "WEM Price Compare" — or go to wem3.ai/extension and click "Add to Edge — Free".
- Click Get, then Add extension.
- Shop on Amazon or eBay as normal — the panel appears in the corner whenever there is a cheaper option, and steps aside when there is not.
Chrome and Edge, one tool, same rules
Whether you use Chrome or Edge, WEM Price Compare works the same way and follows the same principles: show the comparison where you already are, send you straight to the merchant, keep the data footprint tiny, and be honest about the commission. If you have ever been burned by an extension that turned out to be working against you, the entire point of this one is that it is not.
Install on Edge or Chrome, see the full retailer list, and reach the team at wem3.ai/extension. Built in the UK, for UK shoppers.
