Which retailer is cheapest, on the same basket?
A fixed basket of 16 everyday products, priced across UK retailers from WEM’s tracked offers — the same data WEM’s own comparison pages run on. The basket is pinned in code and versioned; an index whose contents quietly change between editions is a different study every month wearing the same name.

The index publishes only when at least 8 basket items are priced by 2+ retailers in WEM’s tracked offers. Right now 0 of 16 items qualify. Rather than publish a league table built on a sliver, this page shows the methodology until the coverage is real — the same rule WEM’s product pages follow: silence, not a wrong number.
Methodology
- Fixed basket of 16 products (version 2026-08.2), spread across 7 everyday categories. Changes to the basket are versioned and disclosed.
- GBP, in-stock offers only; one price per retailer per item (its cheapest).
- An item counts only when 2+ retailers price it — a “cheapest” with no competitor is a stock list, not a comparison. Dropped items are counted, never hidden.
- WEM earns disclosed affiliate commission when shoppers buy through its links; ranking here, as everywhere on WEM, is by price alone.
