Things to do in Prague
One of the cheapest European city breaks for the architectural payoff — Charles Bridge, Old Town Square, and Prague Castle are all reachable on foot or a short tram ride. The Old Town (Staré Město) is intensely touristed in summer (June–August); Vinohrady to the east is quieter, well-connected by Metro line A, and offers 20–30% lower pricing with better restaurant options. Spring (April–May) and autumn (September–October) deliver comfortable walking weather without the cruise-ship crowds. Christmas markets (late November through December) are magical but book out central hotels 2–3 months ahead. Václav Havel Airport connects to Náměstí Republiky in 30 minutes on the AE bus; the Metro extension to the airport is due but not yet operational — taxis run £25–35 fixed rate.
